Donald Trump and Volodymyr Zelenskyy's meeting in St Peter's Basilica this morning is being dubbed "Pope Francis's miracle" by members of the clergy.

"It was very a moving experience," Professor Father Francesco Giordano told Sky News when asked about the funeral service.

"It was also moving to see what they are now calling 'Pope Francis's miracle' with Trump and Zelenskyy meeting, there's so many things that happened today - it was just overwhelming."

After the ceremony, mourners thronged the streets of Rome as the Pope's body was carried to his final resting place.

Pope Francis' funeral has taken place in the Vatican, and his coffin has arrived at the church in Rome where he will be buried.

Pope Francis "touched minds and hearts" and wanted to "build bridges, not walls", said Cardinal Giovanni Battista Re, who led the service.

Dozens of leaders and dignitaries - including Donald Trump, Volodymyr Zelensky, and Prince William - joined hundreds of thousands of people gathered in St Peter’s Square and the surrounding area.
