Welcome to my channel and in today's video I will be making homemade pop tarts. This was my first trying them, so watch till the end as my kids taste the pop tarts and give their verdict.

Recipe Pastry:
3 cups all purpose flour
250gr butter
1 egg
1 tsp salt
cold water


Vanilla frosting:
Icing Sugar
Water
Vanilla Extract

Thank you, Quarantine, for finally getting me to make sourdough bread.

Bread is incredible. Bread is culture. History. Bread is a work of love and art.


Ingredients:
-520 grams all-purpose flour
-385 grams water
-50 grams active sourdough starter


Method:
-Combine flour and salt in a big bowl
-In a smaller bowl, combine water and starter
-Add starter/water mixture to flour and mix for until it comes together into a shaggy dough
-Let it rest for 25 minutes

Stretch and Fold
-Grab a corner of the dough and pul up gently
-Fold it over the ball of dough
-Repeat a few times around
-Cover and let it rest another 15 minutes
-Repeat this about 3 times, resting 15 minutes in between
-After the last one, cover with plastic wrap or a damp towel
-Let it bulk rise for 6-8 hours at room temperature (depends on temperature in your home, it could take even longer if it is cold, you can do this overnight too)
-It is done when it has risen quite a bit, has a few bubbles and jiggles

Proofing
-Line a smaller bowl with a towel and cover in flour
-Grab the dough with two hands and let is hang from your hands, place it down on itself
-Turn bowl and do it again
-On the last one, lift and gently place in the floured bowl
-Cover and place in fridge for one hour at least (it is done proofing when you are able to poke your finger in the dough and it slowly springs back
-Preheat your oven to 230 Celsius (I use a pizza stone to bake my bread because I do not have a dutch oven, but that is ideal. You can also place it in a loaf pan and bake it in that)

Bake
-Cover bowl with parchment and a cutting board
-Flip dough onto parchment
-Grab a sharp knife and cut 1-2 slightly deep lines, this allows air to release and dough to rise
-Bake 25 minutes or until dough is 93 Celsius

Allow to cool COMPLETELY before slicing, enjoy! :)

Eat within 2-3 days or slice it up, wrap in foil and freeze, take out and toast on pan when needed :)

Garlic Chili Oil is like a universal Asian condiments. It gives dimsum, soup, or any dishes a different level of taste and aroma. Siomai, dumplings, congee, pho and other stir-fry dishes won't be as good without Garlic Chili Oil.

Making this at home is like having gold handy in the kitchen. This also makes a perfect gift to friends who can appreciate asian cuisine.

*** Quick note, to further protect the oil from going rancid, store them in your fridge and bring out just enough for 3-5 days at a time. : )

*** All our dishes do not use msg and other artificial flavoring, except for ingredients that we cannot intentionally avoid. We are also avoiding artificial coloring on our dishes, especially on desserts. Our overall goal is to promote healthy cooking, focused only on whole and pure ingredients. :) HAPPY COOKING!

Oil Infusion:
2-3 star anise
5 bay leaves

1tbs cardamom
3 1/2 cup coconut oil

I decided to make some hot sauce using peppers from my garden. It is my first time trying this. Thanks for the tips from Nate over at White Thunder BBQ YouTube Channel and Joshua Weissman YouTube Channel. I think it turned out good for my first stab at it. The heat level is similar to Tobasco Hot Sauce in my judgement. I did a Tablespoons of sugar and some lemon juice to the one bottle I had in the fridge which I think helped cut down on the sharpness of it. Also, added some tomato sauce/water 1/4 mixture, one TB white vinegar, and one TB lemon juice to the other six bottles to smooth it out some. Ended up with the heat comparable to Texas Pet IMO. Next time I'll probably try something different. I'm pleased with it overall.

Recipe for hot sauce as shown for one recipe. I had more peppers so I doubled it.
I used two times as many peppers so I doubled some of this recipe
1 1/4 lbs of chili peppers
1 1/4 quarts of water
3 1/2 TB of kosher salt
2 chopped shallots (can use onion)
6 cloves of garlic chopped
De-Stem and chop up all peppers and other veggies
Put into container and pour the salt brine over and cover peppers with one Tablespoon of sugar.
Use a weight (I used casserole dish lid) on top to make sure peppers stay under the brine liquid. Since you will stir once daily, I don't think this is a big deal.
At the end of 2 weeks, strain out peppers from the brine. Keep brine to use a small amount next step.
Using a blender, add a cup of white distilled vinegar and blend the peppers until finely grated.
Pour into screen filter and push out all the juice, then discard the pulp.

After blending and filtering out the pepper juice, I poured into a 2 qt pot, then added 6 Tablespoons of tomato sauce with 6 Tablespoons of water, 1 Tablespoon of white distilled vinegar, 1 Table spoon of lemon juice.Add this point you can add 1 tsp of sugar per blender full and 1/8 tsp lemon juice to help cut the tartness and acidity.

Put juice in a pot on medium heat and bring to a low bubbly boil while stirring.
Pour into 5 ounce sauce jars. (Got mine from amazon)
I also added a pinch of potassium metabisulphite to prevent any bacteria or contamination, also since I added some sugar I added just a pinch of potassium sorbate which prevents any further fermentation. This also adds a little more shelf life.

Need something for the BBQ weekend, just before the big game, or just craving for some homemade buns. This will totally do the trick. A soft and fluffy milk bread recipe that tastes wonderful.

1/2 cup warm milk
1/2 cup warm water
2 1/2 teaspoons active dry yeast
3 1/2 cups bread flour
1 tablespoon sugar
1 1/2 salt
1 egg
1 egg yolk
2 1/2 tablespoons softened unsalted butter

This video is dedicated to my study life!
I have many recipes that I have been making throughout my study but today I wanted to share these 3 easy, cheap dinner ideas!

00:00 Welcome
00:23 Ramen
Ingredients:
1 Instant ramen pack (whatever flavour u like)
1 egg
Bacon slices or any protein
Green onion
1 handful of vegetables ( green beans, mushroom, paprika, onion, broccoli or anything that would work)
Seaweed (optional)

Method:
1. Boil the eggs. Bring the water to a boil, gently put the eggs into the water (room temperature eggs recommended). Make sure that the water covers the egg. For medium leave to boil for 6 minutes. Then dunk in ice or cold water.
2. Slice up the green onion and chop up vegetables if needed.
Prepare the protein however you like, but for the bacon, bring the pan to medium high heat aan while the pan is heating up place the bacon slices.
3. Boil 450 - 700 ml of water. Add the flavour packet, and dump all the veggies to the boiling water. Boil until tender, then add the ramen! Cook according to instruction.
4. Assemble everything in a bowl and enjoy!

02:35 Feta Pesto Pasta
Ingredients:
Pasta, how much you like
Small onion
Half zucchini
1 Tomato
Mushroom
50 - 70g feta cheese
Salt, pepper and garlic powder

Toppings:
Pesto
Olives
Dried herbs like basil and or oregano

Method:
1. Bring the water to a boil and generally season with salt. Drown the pasta and let it cook according to the packaging instructions. Once it's done, drain the pasta water and put it aside.
2. Cut up all the vegetables. And the cheese.
Then start by heating your flimsy pan on medium low heat. Add 2 tbs of vegetable oil. Add all your veggies at once, season with garlic powder, salt and pepper. Let it cook for 5 to 7 mins or till the vegetables become soft and seem more edible.
3. Then add your feta and pasta and for 3 to 4 mins till it melts and everything becomes one.
4. Plate it up! Add dried herbs if you have any like basil or oregano. Add a dash of pesto! For those who have a mature flavour palette add black olives.
And there you go, a warm easy meal for the lucky ones with no lactose intolerance.

04:30 Big Mac Burger
Ingredients
Burger buns
Beef, 300 grams for 2 patties
Lettuce
Cheddar or Jong cheese

Sauce:
50g mayo
50g ketchup
1 heaping table spoon of mustard,
½ TBS garlic powder,
½ TBS paprika
¼ TBS salt
2 TBS finely chopped pickles,
1 TBS pickle juice

Method:
1. For the sauce mix everything into a small bowl or cup. This will make 2 - 4 portions of sauce.
2. Cut up the Lettuce. And shape the meat into a disk bigger than the bun since it will shrink because of the heat.
3. Put the pan on medium heat and butter that thing. And Place the buns to toast. You can also toast them in a toaster.
4. Then on medium high heat, add a bit of vegetable oil and add the beef disk! (be careful). Season generously with salt and pepper. Let it cook undisturbed for 3 to 5 minutes on their first side. Until a deep fried crust forms.
5. Flip the patty and top with american cheese please. Carefully add a dash of water to the pan and cover and to let the steam melt the cheese.
6. Now the burger is done, time to assemble the masterpiece.
7. Take the bottom bun, scoop up that special sauce, spread it around, top that with some lettuce, place that cooked cheesy patty on top. Then smack some extra sauce on the top bun and piece it all together.
8. Enjoy!
