Cannons are vibemasters. From the release of 2017’s aptly-named ‘Night Drive’ EP to this year’s alluring ‘Fever Dream' debut, the LA trio has steadily expanded their electro-pop dreamworld. With her glittering outfits, shimmering blonde locks, and reverb-drenched whisper, frontwoman Michelle Joy uses siren skills to woo listeners. Her accomplices, longtime pals Ryan Clapham and Paul Davis, keep listeners in place with an array of spells - ethereal synths, crispy percussion, psychedelic guitars. Harry Styles was among the millions hypnotized by “Fire For You,” which went Gold earlier this year. Ostensibly their breakout track, it was actually part of 2019’s ‘Shadows’ EP. As its popularity grew through the lockdown era, Cannons’ impact did too; fans delved into the group’s deep discography of similarly vibey jams. Now the trio is getting a chance to conjure their magic on stage. Michelle loves seeing fans come out in “Cannons clothes” - anything that’s shiny, sparkly, feathery, or retro. We were certainly under their spell after their studio visit. When “Hurricane” and “Bad Dream” pull you into their world, you won’t want to leave.
